Julian Schneemann

Julian Schneemann (1992) is on a mission: to unite people through music. He effortlessly navigates between the worlds of classical music, jazz, pop and world music. His upbringing by classical musicians and his training as a pianist with jazz masters created an insatiable curiosity and adventurous spirit. His ability to listen across borders resulted in unique collaborations with musicians from all genres and corners of the world. In the Netherlands, Julian created a furor with his own projects such as Roundabout, Caravan, Ikarai and Island Songs.

Julian’s collaborations as arranger and composer with the Netherlands Wind Ensemble have crossed the musical landscape and show a vivid portrait of his versatility. From the hypnotic minimalism of John Adams to the rich colors of European, African and Arabic folk; from the timeless elegance of Rameau and Marin Marais to the whimsical slapstick of composing for Charlie Chaplin films and the irresistible theater of Neapolitan commedia dell’arte singer Peppe Barra.
