jongNBE: Schiermonnikoog Festival

photo:Melle Meivogel

For years, the jongNBE has been a regular part of the programme of the Schiermonnikoog Festival, an annual voyage of discovery on Schiermonnikoog featuring young classical talent. This year, the jongNBE performs a show about love.

In the eight languages the jongNBE speaks, the ensemble tells a story about love. The best answer people have to violence, aggression and war. From the 16th century in Italy to the 20th in Brazil, from Romanticism in France and Spain to the folk music of the Basque country and klezmer, from the past to the present (with a surprise composition by a young composer(s)); love plays a leading role everywhere. And it ranges from bewitched, foolish, broken, unrequited to tender, embracing love and …. wild infatuation.
