Nieuwjaarsconcert 2025 (New Year’s Concert 2025)

Traditionally, the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble heralds the new year with a grand, musical celebration from the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. This year, we celebrate the ensemble’s versatility by showcasing it in all its facets, featuring NBE, jongNBE, and jongNBEregionaal together on stage.

This year marks the debut of bass trombonist Brandt Attema as artistic director. To celebrate the versatility of the NBE, he has chosen to showcase the ensemble in all its facets: NBE performing alongside the young musicians of jongNBE and jongNBEregionaal.

We are thrilled to welcome special guests: Dutch-Kurdish singer-songwriter Naaz, Mongolian throat singer and morin khuur player Enkhjargal Dandarvaanchig (Epi), and Dutch-Surinamese jazz diva Denise Jannah.

Together we play the most beautiful musical tales from all corners of the globe. And of course, this year’s young winners of the Young Composers Competition will play their own compositions. This year the winners are Mateo Suknović (10) & Noud Egelmeers (11), Kobus Jansen (15) en Linde Geboers (18).

All together it will be a sensory-stimulating performance offering togetherness, hope, solace, and inspiration.

And the best part is: you can also enjoy it from the comfort of your couch—with an oliebol in hand! This year’s New Year’s Concert will once again be broadcast by BNNVARA. Watch the broadcast here via NPOStart.
