November 2025 – The Showcases of the Young Composers Competition have taken place once again and all the selected young composers have been announced! Are you curious to find out who they are? Take a look at all participants here. Over the coming weeks, they will continue to work on their compositions under the guidance of an arranger. They will perform these updated versions of their pieces on Saturday 13 December or Sunday 14 December at Akoesticum in Ede during the Composers’ Weekend.
During the Composers’ Weekend, all the selected young composers participating in the Composition Competition will meet NBE musicians. Since the Showcases, the young composers have been guided by an arranger to adapt their compositions for the NBE, and this weekend they will hear for the first time how their pieces sound when played by the NBE. It will be a weekend full of rehearsals, performances and workshops. Each day ends with a concert in which the composers perform their own compositions together with the NBE for an audience!
