Theme of the 2026 Composition Expedition: Dive into the World of the Roaring Twenties
Imagine a time of bustling cities, dance parties, jazz clubs, and groundbreaking music. Swinging jazz took the world by storm, while classical composers were also experimenting with new rhythms, sounds, and styles.
More than 100 years later, much of the music from that era still sounds remarkably modern. But how do you view that period? Reinvent the music, play with it, combine it with today’s sounds, or go completely against it. Let your imagination run free and tell your story through a song, soundscape, or symphony—in any style you choose.
