Bart de Kater (1986) graduated Cum Laude at the conservatory of Amsterdam in 2012 where he  received training from professors Herman Braune,  Harmen de Boer and Arno Piters, During his study Bart founded, in collaboration with three friends, the Nieuw Amsterdam Klarinet Kwartet. The quartet has since then performed at such venues like Muziekgebouw aan het IJ and the Concertgebouw.

He has furthermore worked withe renowned ensembles like the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, with which he toured through Jordan, Israel, Turkey Poland and China and performed in the New Year’s concert in the Concertgebouw. With the Calefax Reed Quintet he participated in the production of  their jubilee album and project CalefaXL. He also makes a regular appearance in orchestras such as the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, LUDWIG and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

An avid sailor, Bart likes to sail across the lakes nearby his hometown of Monnickendam.
