Eternal Delight

Both the Georgian composer Giya Kancheli (1935-2019) and English composer Steve Martland (1954-2013) had a special bond with the NBE, though their music differs greatly. The muscular and rhythmic music of the combative English composer provides spectacle and excitement. The music of the self-composed Kancheli is spiritual and serene. Together they are very strong. The NBE presents an equally powerful programme with works by both composers.
