Back in 1981, the United Nations declared September 21st the International Day of Peace with the aim of a worldwide day of truce and non-violence.

Day of Peace is an annual event in cooperation with TivoliVredenburg and Stichting Vluchteling. The NBE invites guest artists from various arts disciplines who have (recently) fled war zones from all over the world. Together with NBE repertoire that has urgency, Day of Peace is a connecting, melancholic and uplifting performance.

The 2021 edition received an honourable place in the top 10 most beautiful TivoliVredenburg moments.
