Join us in making a difference
For over 60 years, the Netherlands Wind Ensemble (NBE) has been performing music of all kinds and sizes with the greatest possible energy and joy of playing. The NBE addresses subjects that are close to its heart. Music is the universal language through which social themes are brought to the forefront. In doing so, the NBE follows its own recognizable yet surprising course. To be able to continue creating these programs, now and in the future, your support is urgently needed, now more than ever. Join the dedicated group of donors and sponsors.
Donate and contribute to the NBE programs. Programs that seek cultural and social connections, explore surprising combinations with other genres, are rooted in current affairs, and contribute to the education of young talent.

“Embarking on a new path together, with creativity and connection. That’s what we stand for — and we can really use your help to make it happen.”
Brandt Attema, Artistic Director NBE

NBE’s Lotgenoten
Year after year, the NBE continues to captivate audiences with fresh, original programs. As if it’s second nature, the ensemble constantly brings together unexpected musical genres and showcases soloists the world didn’t know it was missing. The annual New Year’s Concert at The Concertgebouw is the ultimate highlight – a celebration of creativity, connection, and pure musical joy. But the NBE does more than make extraordinary music. Time and again, it shows us what kind of world we could live in if different cultures came together in harmony. To keep performing at this level – and to keep dreaming big – a group of around 150 passionate fans has been supporting the NBE since 2005.
Proudly calling themselves “De Lotgenoten”, each member lends the Blazers a helping hand through an annual tax-deductible donation of €1,250. Thanks to the Dutch “Geefwet,” this equals a net amount of about €450 to €600. The NBE’s Kindred Spirits Foundation is officially recognized with ANBI charitable status.
But their connection goes far beyond financial support. Many of the Lotgenoten actively advise and assist the Blazers, sharing ideas, expertise, and enthusiasm. And because true love goes both ways, the NBE embraces its donors with warmth and gratitude – often celebrating together through music and friendship.

Bequests
The Netherlands Wind Ensemble (NBE) has been a phenomenon in the Dutch musical landscape for over sixty years. With around eighty performances a year, the ensemble is known nationally and internationally as an innovator in classical music programming. Every performance tells a story. On the one hand, we play beautiful pieces from the “great” repertoire of famous composers such as Mahler, Bach, Beethoven and Mozart with great love and dedication. On the other hand, we passionately embrace a colourful group of fellow musicians from the neighbourhood or from another part of the world.
We love to connect all styles of music. In every performance, we try to use the power of all those beautiful notes to tell our audience a story. A story that moves, amazes and touches your heart.
Young talent is the future. We believe it is extremely important that new generations continue to be introduced to music. In recent years, we have encouraged thousands of children and young people to compose their own music and make music together.
Our role as an inspiration is becoming increasingly important, especially now that music education in primary and secondary schools is becoming increasingly scarce. Involving the new generation in the world of music is not only a matter of passion but also of pure necessity.
