Did you miss Vientos Flamencos in October? This spring you have another chance to see this powerful and daring performance.
Driven by curiosity about tradition and the ambition to introduce unexpected twists, the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble sets out on a new adventure. Together with renowned flamenco artists David Lagos, Úrsula López, Tino van der Sman, and Florian Magnus Maier, the NBE brings a fresh breeze to contemporary flamenco.
Singer David Lagos from Jerez de la Frontera is deeply rooted in the flamenco tradition but embraces innovation. According to him, every generation brings something new to flamenco. Dancer and choreographer Úrsula López adds a distinctive and highly expressive dimension through the intensity and precision of her dance improvisations.
For this production, composers and guitarists Florian Magnus Maier and Tino van der Sman wrote bold new works, which they also perform themselves.
The result? Flamenco that moves, breathes, and surprises with a thoroughly contemporary voice. From flamenco to Shostakovich and sometimes even a touch of metal—anything is possible in this powerful and expressive performance.
