Description
Later, when I grow up, I’m going to be a fireman, pilot, singer. Later, when I grow up, I’m going to be famous. Who doesn’t dream about what will happen later? But when later arrives, it’s never what you expected, and fame is only for the lucky few. Let’s say you did become famous… what happened later? What happened when ‘later’ finally became ‘now’? For the 2005 New Year’s Concert, the NBE tracked down two old heroes: Manitas de Plata (83) and Little Smokey Smothers (66).
Later… what are you going to do? Later… what is the world going to look like? More than a hundred children and youths captured their thoughts in music and took part in qualifying rounds in Groningen, Enschede, Tilburg and Haarlem. At the final in Utrecht, four winners were picked who won’t have to wait until later: Casimir (9), Marnix (13), Channah (17) and Aafke (17) were invited to the Concertgebouw, where they performed their compositions about ‘later’ with the NBE.
